01 — About
Twenty years of fixing the process, not just the symptom
Business systems analyst with 20+ years in manufacturing data — ERP systems, inventory control, master data, and process automation. Every role has come back to the same kind of work: roll-level barcode traceability, automated data synchronization across subcontractor sites, and applications that replaced week-long manual workflows with instant answers.
Fluent in English and Spanish, with 15 years supporting plant floor and subcontractor staff directly. I like the role where process problems get fixed instead of logged.

Where I've done the work
-
Inventory & Supply Chain Analyst
- Reconcile hand-written production and consumption records for every operation line against NetSuite, correcting whichever side is wrong so batch, lot, and work order data stays accurate and audit-ready.
- Investigate material variances by tracing lot movement through bins and work orders, identifying where usage was mis-posted, and correcting documentation to match what was physically produced.
- Rebuilt daily data validation using SuiteQL queries and Saved Searches to work around an ERP configuration with no API access, surfacing duplicate entries, leftover balances, and mis-posted consumption before month-end.
- Built a macro-driven Excel review tool that flags entry errors, leftover balances, and batch inconsistencies, replacing a manual page-by-page check.
-
Data Engineer
Hired as Programmer / Analyst; title changed with job family reclassification.
- Owned the daily Build & Gather process that consolidates item-change data from multiple systems for upload into SAP — ran the 4:00 PM release, stayed on for after-hours recovery, and traced recurring upload errors to their root cause, fixing either the business rule or the code behind it.
- Partnered with developers on a bot-driven customer setup workflow: a bot extracted request details from a shared mailbox, my program enriched them with the required table and field lookups, and the output generated a Winshuttle template that created the customer in SAP on a schedule — eliminating the manual lookups that previously consumed staff time.
- Created and led "Intro to SQL," a training program built on the division's own data as a running scenario, delivered as written documentation, a chaptered video series, and live webinars; raised self-reliance across the team.
- Wrote SQL queries against SAP HANA for teams throughout the division and served as the division's informal SQL resource; administered Zendesk accounts and access control.
-
Master Data Management Analyst
- Designed and directed a web-based Country of Origin application, built start to finish remotely with a developer — requirements, user interface, database structure, workflow rules, automated notifications, escalation for overdue requests, and full testing. Cut response time from over a week to instant where data was on file and eliminated the manual email coordination between Government Sales and product managers. The application was adopted across departments company-wide.
- Led a company-wide barcode cleanup: verified that every Medline item carried a Medline barcode matching its box art and that GTIN assignments met GS1 standards. Resolved a conflict where US barcodes were being reused by the Canada team by establishing separate barcode buckets for US, Canada, and other markets so it could not recur.
- Ran DataSync and Country of Origin operations; prepared and uploaded item data to 1WorldSync on customer request.
- Reduced a monthly license-expiry report from roughly 16 hours by narrowing the data scope to customer-specific expiration windows instead of full three-year account downloads.
- Wrote Standard Operating Procedures by sitting with each team member to learn their job, then presenting the documented process back to the team; produced chaptered training videos and delivered separate webinar sessions for the two audiences that used the Country of Origin application (product managers and Government Sales).
-
Programmer / Analyst
- Modernized legacy FoxPro reporting by writing stored procedures against SAP HANA that reproduced the existing DBF output exactly — including documented legacy defects — so downstream systems saw no change. Removed the exclusive-file-lock outages the old process caused and cut processing time.
- Tested and debugged 300+ Winshuttle scripts for the SAP 5.0 to ECC 6.0 upgrade, tracing failures to renamed or relocated fields and correcting and retesting each script so automation was ready at go-live.
- Developed and scheduled SSRS reports for multiple departments, from requirements gathering through delivery.
-
Business Process Analyst
- Led the redesign of fabric inventory control across 5 subcontractor sites in Mexico and the US, moving the division from a single annual physical inventory to a daily barcode cycle-count discipline: assigned every fabric roll a unique ID, barcoded warehouse slots and work areas, and captured cut recaps in the scanner so any roll could be traced to the purchase order it produced — establishing recall-ready traceability where none had existed.
- Moved cycle counting from a full day every Thursday to a few specific slots counted each morning, using A/B/C classification to direct attention to the highest-demand fabrics. Accuracy improved enough that the annual physical inventory in Mexico was eliminated.
- Built a cycle-count dashboard consolidating subcontractor progress toward projected production, top fabrics gained and lost, performance trends, and an accuracy score. Cut the weekly production meeting from 60 minutes to 30 and surfaced problems the old report hid.
- Deployed microservers at each subcontractor site, consolidating what had been 15 separate desktop data files into 5 local hubs, and wrote a Robocopy synchronization job that ran overnight — reducing transfer errors and the daily manual exchange of files.
- Automated goods-receipt variance correction: a program detected where US shipment quantity and Mexico receipt quantity disagreed, generated the correction file, and a Winshuttle script posted it automatically instead of the manual adjustment being made by hand.
- Cut the time to receive data files from Mexico from 2 days to 3 hours by introducing shared collaboration tools, later replaced by the automated synchronization described above.
- Identified the root cause of long-standing fabric discrepancies as a system timing problem — fabric consumed to receive a purchase order before the fabric had been received into inventory — and documented the control weakness with a recommended fix.
- Served as the division's de facto helpdesk for internal staff and all subcontractor sites; trained staff in Spanish on Excel, FoxPro, and internal systems, both one-on-one and in groups.
-
Production Scheduler
- Scheduled production for subcontractors in Mexico against line capacities for made-to-order products; created production orders in SAP and adjusted schedules for expedited orders.
- Built per-subcontractor Excel packages showing order requirements and each line's capacity so they could plan their own production, and forecasted item usage to balance inventory without surplus.
- Coordinated daily in Spanish with subcontractors to verify order status, and gave sales representatives proactive notice of delays rather than after-the-fact excuses.
- Served as backup for the in-house FoxPro inventory control system — the entry point into the programming work that followed.
-
Data Analyst
- Designed and maintained the Access database that captured production inspection, lab, and polishing data.
- Built a second Access database for the sister company and was placed in charge of all computers at that site in my second year.
- Interpreted between plant workers and HR management (English/Spanish) and handled Windows Server user and workstation administration.
-
Owner
- Run a small technology services business serving clients who could not otherwise afford help: hardware and software troubleshooting, home and small office networking, web design and hosting, and one-on-one computer instruction.
-
Earlier Experience
- Data Entry Clerk, Credit Solutions S.C., Milwaukee, WI (2003 – 2004) — maintained the database of filed cases and managed a six-workstation Windows server environment.
- Master Data Analyst, Medline Industries, Mundelein, IL (2001 – 2002) — entered new item information into SAP and ran FoxPro error reports to catch bad data at the point of entry.
Career Notes
- Jul 2017 – Dec 2017 — personal relocation to Puerto Rico; returned to Wisconsin in November 2017 and rejoined Medline Industries in January 2018.
- Aug 2024 – Jan 2025 — voluntary career break; began at Golden Pet Brands in January 2025.
04 — Projects
Things I built that outlived the problem
LISA — Live Inventory & Supply Analytics
Golden Pet Brands · 2025–Present
Self-initiated. I designed and directed an internal toolkit for inventory and production work:
- Query viewer — runs saved SuiteQL queries against NetSuite on demand, instead of hand-copying them into the query tool one at a time.
- Work-order reports — production, first grind, and packaging; yields, consumption, and component variances without hunting through screens.
- Paperwork checker — drag the lot numbers from the paper against what the system shows; anything left unconfirmed was never in the sheets.
- Ticketing — a problem stays attached to the work order it came from, with comments, replies, and a waiting or closed status.
A lot trace that takes minutes in NetSuite takes seconds here, and the paperwork check pulls only the data for the work order in front of me instead of a full lot-history download. I set the requirements and workflow rules; an AI coding agent wrote the code under my direction.
Roll-level barcode traceability & cycle-count program
Medline · 2009–2017
Unique ID per fabric roll, barcoded slots, scanner-captured cut recaps; made any roll traceable to the purchase order it built and removed the annual physical inventory requirement.
Country of Origin web application
